I've used turbotax for the last decade.
They lure you in with free services for enlisted military or other discounts, then make it feel as annoying as possible to switch.
Realizing how much I've been ripped off now I think this is the year I'm finally going to switch.
- 7thaccount 3y agoNot just that you're ripped off, but they heavily lobby to keep taxes as frustrating as possible so their existence isn't irrelevant. I hate hearing about late stage capitalism, but this is essentially that.
- bombcar 3y agoThe increase of the standard deduction has eliminated the real "need" for TurboTax for so many people that may not even realize it. Many, many people no longer need to claim the mortgage deduction and so no longer need to itemize.
