While this and other GL.iNet devices use OpenWRT (with their own custom UI/frontend), they don't contribute to the OpenWRT project in terms of code or funding, many of their devices are incompatible with mainline OpenWRT releases, and software updates are few and far between. I have one of these myself, they're handy devices, but I wouldn't go and recommend them as good OpenWRT devices.
