Performance is still poor and many features were removed. But recently a GNOME developer decided to optimize VTE, the library behind these terminal applications, and instead of updating one of the existing terminals to benefit from these changes, he decided to create a third one called Prompt [8]. No doubt the performance is great now, finally, but only after many years and at the cost of a third terminal application.
