I have a Google Pixel 4xl thats had its battery replaced 3 times because of their terrible tiny brittle battery connector. The last two times, I've done it myself with a $19 Amazon battery. I never reseal the phone properly, just closing the back onto the old sticky residue that's left from the original assembly years ago. Yesterday I dropped the phone into a hot bowl of soup. I took it out, rinsed it under a faucet to get the soup off it, and dried it with a towel. Good as new.
