I may be wrong, but I think when Torvalds created it, he envisioned an email based workflow using patch files.
In his use case, he is the single source of truth who decides what gets merged.
- melagonster 3y agoI remember he mentioned this in speech. he can merge changes from trusted people, and everyone have a personal list of people they trust... so he doesn't need to check everything by himself, and if anything goes wrong, they always can go back to last version.
