HP customers claim firmware update rendered third-party ink verboten
- gwbas1c 3y agoOne of the reasons why I switched to laser printers years ago: Even though I print infrequently, it seemed like every time I printed a few pages I needed to go buy a very expensive ink cartridge. One day, when I was a little short on disposable income, I walked into Fry's and a B&W laser printer was cheaper than a new ink cartridge. Because I printed so infrequently, (and was mostly printing concert tickets, driving directions, and "disposable notes,") I decided it was worth giving up color for something that "works." I've since switched to a color laser. (LED, really.) The toner lasts forever, but the printer was much more expensive than an inkjet.
