Maureen Flavin Sweeney Dies at 100; Her Weather Report Delayed D-Day
- pfdietz 3y agoInvading the next day, when weather was just good enough, turned out to be very beneficial. The German command was relaxed and unprepared (Rommel had gone back to Germany), sure the Allies would not invade. The weather in the next month's window ended up being terrible as well (although one cannot say that if they didn't invade, the weather then would have turned out the same, due to chaos.)
