Did you ever happen to put a watt meter on the gaming setup to see what the power draw was? The M1's are a lot better with power consumption, though my biggest users of power tend to be my large monitors..... I just put inverter/battery/solar system in my house in ZA and since you can get a 5KW battery for roughly 25,000 Rand which would run a beefy machine for over a long time the numbers might change if you were in that circumstance. If you're a renter, or in a condo etc. those numbers would be different. ....all of that being said, there are a lot of other pluses to having the M1 and I love the M2 that I currently have.
