I attached myself to pulse oximetry and ECG which measured my oxygen saturation and my pulse rate while using my phones camera to take my pulse rate at the same time and they both had the same measurement. The monitor I used was for medical procedures and was pretty much as accurate as you can get for non-invasive monitoring. Then I tried to use the phone camera to take my cat’s pulse rate, but he didn’t like keeping his foot still. So I haven’t managed to use this technology on pets yet… But I think it must be fairly accurate.
