- PaulHoule 3y agoI go to a Best Buy quite often but don't remember the last time I bought a video there. My take is that the store is getting thin in inventory the way that shops in financial trouble get thin in inventory. Sometimes this is framed as a "premium shopping experience" but that's an excuse, sales for a store are sales per square foot times square feet and if you aren't packed with product you aren't selling enough to pay the rent. Already Best Buy is struggling to decide what it is (what's the point in stocking bottom of the line mirrorless cameras but no selection of lenses? why so many gas cooktops and no induction cooktops?) I can see the point in eliminating a category that doesn't sell a lot, but it is also one less reason to come around.
