I set a goal to not buy any new computers (anything with a CPU) in the 2020s. I've broken that to buy a Steam Deck, which I justified to myself because it fits use-cases that nothing else that I have fits (particularly gaming on public transit). Otherwise things are going pretty smoothly. I'm using the same Samsung S10 that I got in 2018 I think. I'm using a laptop from the early 2010s. I upgraded the GPU in my desktop from an RX 590 to an RX 6650 XT, but only bexause the 590 had a problem that caused my system to unpredictably crash. I've been wanting to abandon my smart phone entirely for a while now. I started using jmp.chat so I could use SMS and phone calling from any machine that supports XMPP. That has been quite nice; I hope to integrate it more into my life to replace my smart phone.
