This is a good point. There is some selection bias here for sure (a lot of the people on the mailing list have adopted Riak already). That said, the opinion of those who have committed time to Riak is definitely important. If you have the emails of 1000 people who tried and didn't use Riak for various reasons, please let me know. I would love to talk to them. :)
More importantly, we need to get a a proper yum package built and maintained. In the meantime, this should get you started.
