I'm not aware of any stigma around .xyz. What gives it a very bad rep?

  There have been discussions here regarding xyz actually. People have used the TLD for spamming & phishing so the tld have basically gotten blacklisted and could easily be flagged as spam when you use the domain for emails for example. It has gotten to this point because the tld is very cheap.
