You mentioned Tesla is “heavily marketed”
That’s news to me. When did you last see an advert for Tesla (paid for by Tesla) on TV, movies, print media or a website?
- ngcc_hk 3y agoNot op. But still Surprise. Hard to recall one indeed.
- hef19898 3y agoThere are very different ways of marketing. Just thing about how often Tesla is discussed on HN. Mercedes is for its self-driving, only to have a 50% discussion about Tesla each time, while VW is discussed at a distant third place for its objevtively bad UI / software.
- farslan 3y agoYeap. Reddit, HN, X (Twitter), you see more Tesla than anything else. We talk more about Tesla compared to other car brands.
- cbeach 3y agoPeople discussing a company is different from the company actively "marketing" itself. Important distinction.
- taylodl 3y agoHow do you know those "people" aren't Tesla employees? How do you know Tesla isn't engaging in guerilla marketing? Also, what if it's being done by shareholders to prop-up share prices?
- cbeach 3y agoThe burden of proof lies on you if you want to make claims like that
- averageRoyalty 3y agoWe don't. However it's a publicly traded company that's had whistleblowing before and is heavily scrutinised by the public. The most reasonable default view is that they're not doing this.
