I wonder how many people like this (myself included) would fall under the “Type 8” in the enneagram system. (I view it as a personality system, not a spiritual system) I find that my fear of losing control makes it very easy to do cold-turkey quitting. Something that seems harder for most other folks. It sounds like the author may resonate with that idea. It’s the main reason I quit things as well.
