That was not what it was about. The throttling existed to prevent the phones from shutting down needlesssly
- lnxg33k1 3y agoDue to broken batteries, becoming broken after a short period of time, so to avoid recalling phones
- blackoil 3y agoLack of communication means people didn't had choice (information) to replace battery and choose new phone by default. What percentage of users would have selected new battery instead of phone is debatable but it must be greater than 0.
- endisneigh 3y agoI agree. Apple was wrong to do that, hence the settlement.
