Why do these professional cards look so bland while the typical consumer cards look like futuristic spaceships?
- jupp0r 3y agoHarder to expense it if it has RGB led bling?
- Shorel 3y agoAlso, in a business setting, RGB looks like it is not professional enough for serious processing. Personally, I don't like the LEDs in my GPU. It's the only hardware I have with pointless colouring, but there was no option without it =) 'Bland' is also: not noisy and not distracting. I don't want the extra illumination, all I want to watch and focus on is in the computer display.
- MaxBarraclough 3y agoIt's generally possible to disable the LEDs in software, at least.
- danparsonson 3y agoUnnecessary embellishments don't sell cards to businesses as well as they do to young adults? Edit to add: also consider that other manufacturers besides nVidia need some way to differentiate their products when they're basically all selling the same thing.
- BossingAround 3y agoHonestly, I'd much prefer a bland card that has actually good (and quiet) cooling to a "winter-edition" white MSI card with blue LEDs that sounds like a helicopter is taking off when you boot up a game.
- lvncelot 3y agoIt's shocking how bad fans on consumer GPUs are. I had to replace the fans on my 3090 with a custom 3D-printed shroud and Noctua fans because the high-pitched whine was just unbearable.
