Bacterial enzyme research paves the way for acne vaccine
- haltist 3y agoHow about a proper diet? Has anyone looked into how acne is related to diet? I'm sure this pill will be great though, every problem can be solved with enough synthetic medical chemistry.
- RicoElectrico 3y agoIsn't the diet a myth or at least a half-truth?
- haltist 3y agoFor sure, I just eat pills all day like Ray Kurzweil. His stack is proprietary though so I had to reverse engineer all of it from his writing about the singularity.
- toomuchtodo 3y agomRNA and gene therapy is the way. We’ll slowly spell check the genome.
- haltist 3y agoDefinitely, it's always a good idea to modify metabolic pathways at the DNA and RNA level by injecting ourselves with protoviruses. Nothing will go wrong and lots of money will be made.
- toomuchtodo 3y agoTrying to reconcile the doomer comment with “homeless techno-optimist and singularitarian.” in your profile. Shouldn’t you be more confident in this path?
- symmetrist 3y agoI am. I am 100% on board with accelerating all scientific trends and achieving full scale utilization of all solar radiation at every scale of conceivable reality, current and future. The goal is to achieve godhood and I can get it done for a mere $80B with a patented and trademarked architecture called "panoptic computronium cathedral"™.
- COGlory 3y agoSurely you don't believe no one has looked into it?
- sydbarrett74 3y agoInsulin resistance leads to an increase in acne. Also, could this be used in conjunction with a CAMP factor therapy?
- martinbaun 3y agoSwitching all those carbs and seedoils work wonder for not only acne but your health.
- Dig1t 3y agoI’ve noticed that there are a lot of new vaccines, and that they are using mRNA tech. In the US, vaccines are exempt from liability lawsuits. Are all of these new vaccines also going to be exempt in the same way that old vaccines are? Before the pandemic these treatments would have been labeled as gene therapy, but now with their new label as vaccines it seems like there’s a huge incentive to create gene therapies and call them vaccines to get the valuable liability immunity. Someone please correct me if that is wrong, I don’t want to spread misinformation.
- Gibbon1 3y agoThe problem with vaccines in the US was they were and still are a low margin business. And it's a low volume business. Couple of million doses a year. Doesn't take that many bogus or maybe not bogus product liability lawsuits to eat all the profit. Faced with drug companies exiting the business Congress set up a separate compensation system for vaccine injuries. I think drug companies pay into a fund that then gets disbursed to people harmed by vaccines. Guiding idea is to keep these cases out of ordinary courts where judges and juries aren't competent and into the hands of a panel who are competent. That way injured people are compensated and drug companies liability is limited.
- symmetrist 3y agoThis is a great system for maximizing corporate profits by offsetting the risks of testing onto consumers.
