I'd love to see that broken down in a fair way. I've heard that a lot as well, but I've never seen any data. It seems like the athletic programs at these schools directly impact a few hundred (ish) kids that are actually in the big sports, and otherwise exist as a machine that enriches the people running the athletic program.
