Resurrecting All Humans Who Ever Lived As A Technical Problem (2021)
- I_Am_Nous 3y ago>Let’s assume that the idea of “philosophical zombies” is BS. A precise enough replica of the Archimedes’ brain will indeed generate the Archimedes’ mind, with all the existential bells & whistles. >If the assumption is correct, then we can bring him back to life by reconstructing his brain, or by directly reconstructing his mind. I believe we are shaped by what we experience and choose. Is a theoretical perfect recreation of Archimedes brain network guaranteed to work the same way? In LLM terms our experiences set our weights. Would not the brain randomly fire without a set of weights to assist it? It would likely act like a fresh neural network which has to train in painstaking detail before functioning in a way we would consider "useful".
- aimonster2 3y agoStar trek that shit. If we modify the field emitters in the forward array to give off a tachyon beam and push the warp drive to its max, we can go back in time and get a snapshot of every living human to convert into an AI simulation using the pattern buffers in the transporters and the holodeck.
