Adding to the anecdotes, I'm using Firefox as my main browser on Windows and macOS and have been for years. Very very rarely do I find websites that don't work and need to switch back to the built-in browser (Edge or Safari). I hope Firefox doesn't die because the open web will die with it (no, I don't trust Apple to be the hero of anything given the intentionally locked down features on Safari iOS).
