I'm a pretty big DHH fanboy, but this article felt pretty odd in its tone and composure.
- smugglerFlynn 3y agoI read it as “different teams have different styles, so they might benefit from having a tool to enforce their own styles” - hence the Rubocop
- ysavir 3y agoYeah, but nothing he said supports the idea of having rules applied automatically unless they configure rubocop. Everything he said supports an opt-in methodology (and maybe it will be, by requiring a flag when starting a new project), but putting every programmer and team in a place where they have to configure rubocop on their rails projects is counter to the tone and points he makes in the article.
