- HenryBemis 3y agoA GoPro is a (reasonably) better choice. More battery, inside a hard case, you can mount on helmet or have it fixed on the bike, and probably cheaper (especially if you buy a second hand one and just replace the battery).
- tokai 3y agoWhen you spend obscene amounts on light and aerodynamic equipment an old gopro on the helmet is very sad.
- dukeyukey 3y agoWhy would you spend obscene amounts on equipment? All I've got is a helmet and a front light, cost me about £60 all-in-all.
- tokai 3y agoThere is a huge difference between riding a bike and being a cyclist. This video explains it well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EE8m8mmq1k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EE8m8mmq1k
- mmh0000 3y agoI would like to take a moment to thank you for introducing me to a new youtube series which has already wasted an hour of my day. I love-hate you.
- tokai 3y agoYeah you are right. Some continuous recording that stops and saves when you touch it would work, but guess the battery life cant deal with that.
- scott_w 3y agoThere's a bunch of cycling lights that do exactly this. Cycliq do some and you can get 2-3 hours of battery life between them. For commuting, they're great. For my longer weekend rides, I tend to turn it on at the start/end of a ride, where the worst driving happens, then turn it off for the middle to save battery. There's a good few police forces across England and Wales that act on camera footage and hand out fixed penalty notices for dangerous driving. Usually this is: * Passing too close, especially at speed (40mph+) * Passing when it's not safe (usually into an oncoming car) * Jumping red lights I have noticed drivers are more aware of the lights, now, too. It's so stark that I can noticeably see an increase in dangerous driving when I've not got the camera, or it's switched off. It's a sad situation but the reality is that the only language some drivers understand is the threat that the police will take their toys off them if they don't behave.
