Depending on your priorities, Malort is either a must have or a must hide. My friends and I bought some at a liquor store on Chicago much to the shopkeeper's hesitation. It's one of the most bitter things I've ever drunk but it builds friendship and character, in that order. Once you get used to the bitterness you can start to taste the botanicals. This took about 1/2L, and my taste buds. I'm not going to say it was worth it (I wouldn't lie like that on HN) but it's an experience I will never forget.
