My observation: Most medical professionals were trained in the "exercise is a unequivocal good" mentality - If you can't do it, just work harder and the work will eventually pay off. The problem with CFS/ME/LongCovid is that exercise dosage needs to be controlled carefully. More like a drug where overdosing can cause debilitating side effects and a regression in primary symptoms. If doctors treated rx drug side effects this way ("ah you're fine, just keep taking the pills, pop as many as you can.") they'd be doing severe harm.
