If the edge cases are about missing charging infrastructure: this is not an inherent issue with EVs since the infrastructure for ICEs is simply way more developed. It will slowly become better as EVs become more prevalent. It's a more difficult issue for very long range drives where an ICEs full range is required to get to the next gas station.
