I don't understand why the author dismissed hydroxychloroquine as a "malaria drug".
Of course he doesn't have malaria. It's pretty likely that the rheumatologist prescribed it to treat a potential autoimmune disorder [1], which is information that can be found in the Google searches that the author mentions performing at various intervals.
