From the story:
Celebrities and influencers, including Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, endorsed Reece Lewis as a strong leader for the HyperVerse. Reece Lewis' company offered a bold vision that was supposed to compete with Facebook's Metaverse by creating a "new frontier of a galactic universe" and bringing "to life a complete virtual world,” Reece Lewis' promo promised. Wozniak said in a video that he supported "Steven," proclaiming, "I can’t wait for the HyperVerse.”

Sure it’ll be easier to do that than before but the reality is humanity has been bullshitting itself for hundreds or thousands of years and just because we have some new tool it’s, unlikely, there’s going to be some collapse caused by bullshit.

It’s hard to blame him, he has a family to support and wants to make their futures comfortable, perhaps even at his own reputational expense. No one’s legacy is forever, may as well support your loved ones with it.
