Show HN: TwinPics, a daily generative AI image gen game I made over the weekend
To learn OpenAI’s APIs a bit better (but mostly for fun), I made this image matching/prompting game.
The idea is to generate a matching image using a prompt with limited input. You’ll have 3 tries. A new image and leaderboard is automatically reset daily.

- canpolat 3y agoIt's fun to play. Thanks for sharing. One suggestion: I thought I had 4 attempts to get it right, but I was actually just tweaking the original 30 character prompt. It was too late when I saw the small text over the text box describing the process. Maybe instead of "attempt" you could call them "tweak"s or "adjustment"s. Something like: "You start with an initial prompt and 3 adjustments."
- sm0ol_ 3y agoI had the same issue - didn't realize that the prompt was an add-on to the original. Definitely agree that Attempts could be reframed, especially since they're appended. Fun game though and a good exercise in prompt engineering.
- sevilayha 3y agoSolid feedback! I've made changes for all that wording. Create Image -> Tweak #1 -> Tweak #2 and a few other things. Thanks
- mdrzn 3y agoSeems fun! Maybe add a way to let me know if a previous image I generated had a higher score than the one I tweaked and submitted.
