Personally, I wish we would block NYT submissions from HN - I am never going to pay for NYT, and I imagine many of our international users wont as well... And if youre not paying for it, the posts are absolutely useless as NYT's paywall alert hits after the first couple of sentences and the entire premise of any HN post to NYT links requires payment. No thanks. It shows as ~1% of posts in 2023: https://i.imgur.com/xmAsgWo.png https://i.imgur.com/xmAsgWo.png I just think its bad form, I dont have anything against NYT - just that I come to HN to consume tech news from a great community, but I have no interest in paying NYTs given their shady shenanigans over time. (So, I suppose I have that against them) I'd like an "HN Enhancement Suite" which allows me to ignore certain domain posts. Another neat exercise would be a bot to find alternative stories to anything posted with a paywall domain?

Wait a sec... I ALWAYS include an archive link that bypasses the paywall so everyone here has access. Does this not work for you? If not, I have other means of bypassing the paywall: just let me know.

  Im an idiot, I am specifically clicking off the link on main... I guess I could do as I do on pretty much anything else and drop to the comments for the arch link... I just see NYT in the (domain) on the mainpage and usually skip it entirely...

      @dang: Eaither paywall posts should be blocked OR: re-route to an archive link OR: allow a filter out OR: display paywalls diff on main (with sublink to the arch) OR: give an option to browse the entire site through a lens of a link summation for each article submitted (I dont want to "reddit-ify" HN - but given that HN Birthed Reddit - even with PG's moment on setting their tag line) - but damn, just because you can call 'curmudgeon' on this runs on a single box - It is ironix you are VCing and talking about scale, then brage about HN being single box? Anyway - Changes are needed.
