Very aggressive pricing! Dropbox is 4 times more expensive for 100 GB. $5/mo vs $20. Will be interesting to see how Dropbox reacts to that.

- TomGullen 14y ago80GB on Drive is $1.60 a month ($20 a year). DropBox 100GB is $20 a month!
- TomatoTomato 14y agoThat is incorrect, you are looking at the old Google account storage costs. These are different and may supersede the old pricing. You can get started with 5GB of storage for free—that’s enough to store the high-res photos of your trip to the Mt. Everest, scanned copies of your grandparents’ love letters or a career’s worth of business proposals, and still have space for the novel you’re working on. You can choose to upgrade to 25GB for $2.49/month, 100GB for $4.99/month or even 1TB for $49.99/month. When you upgrade to a paid account, your Gmail account storage will also expand to 25GB.
- TomGullen 14y agoI went to the drive page, it said sign up top right and I clicked it and it quoted the extremely cheap yearly figures. The button is no longer there, I guess they are amending it as we speak.
- Groxx 14y agoI don't know if it is, though. I have Google's +20gb plan from an earlier purchase, and it gives me 25gb in Drive too, for $5 per year.
- TomatoTomato 14y agoIs this still the case? Mine only shows 5GB. edit: My Drive updated! You are currently using 17 MB (0%) of your 87040 MB. Should have bought more...
- Groxx 14y agoIt's still there, yeah. I do notice that we're using two different links, though. The 'upgrade' link sent me here: https://accounts.google.com/b/0/PurchaseStorage?hl=en_US https://accounts.google.com/b/0/PurchaseStorage?hl=en_US which looks like this: http://cl.ly/2S07190C2B1c0z1K1z2G http://cl.ly/2S07190C2B1c0z1K1z2G while yours (from the other thread here) seems to be going to https://www.google.com/settings/storage/?hl=en https://www.google.com/settings/storage/?hl=en and looks like this: http://cl.ly/1P1I1s2K3f2H3v0e321g http://cl.ly/1P1I1s2K3f2H3v0e321g (pseudo-edit while typing) I think I found it: http://cl.ly/0d3r3F1343132g131y36 http://cl.ly/0d3r3F1343132g131y36 (notice down at the bottom) though all the 'learn more' links just take me to the essentially-useless help home-page, rather than to a place where I could actually learn more. What do you get if you go to my first link? Might there be time to grandfather in a better plan? Actual edit: woah - it just started redirecting me to the more expensive option (hasn't been for the past 1/2 hour). wtf.

- benregn 14y agoThose old planes will no longer be offered - you'll have to switch to the per month payments when the old subscription.
- tytso 14y agoThat's not correct. You can stay on the old plan for as long as you don't try to upgrade and your Google Wallet has a valid, up-to-date credit card: http://support.google.com/drive/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=39567&p=butter_old_storage http://support.google.com/drive/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answ...
- hej 14y agoDo you have a link? Their pricing is confusing as hell, no clear information anywhere.
- waterlesscloud 14y agoCall their support line for clarification.
- TomatoTomato 14y agohttps://www.google.com/settings/storage/?hl=en https://www.google.com/settings/storage/?hl=en
- hej 14y agoAlright, thanks! That's better. I couldn't find the link to that page anywhere on the Google Drive site, though. I was led to the old pricing page.
- arunoda 14y agoGoogle is playing with it's massive tech. I hope DropBox does still has a chance and they need to do something pretty soon.
- itg 14y agoSkydrive is also about $50/year for 100 GB. Dropbox will have to do something.

- hej 14y agoGreat to see some competition. I'm looking forward to Dropbox prices come tumbling down.
