Spoonbill (2016–2023)
- rgbrgb 3y agolovely story, appreciate the transparency. why the name spoonbill?
- kens 3y agoThe submitted title "Spoonbill (2016–2013)" is wrong; the correct title is "Spoonbill (2016–2023)", which makes much more sense.
- dang 3y agoFixed. Thanks!
- gwern 3y ago> Spoonbill's data sits in two places, crystalized in amber. You should release the data. It was all public information to begin with, and it has clear historical value in tracking trends like BLM, Ukraine, or cryptocurrency. You could very easily write a paper just on any one of those.
- tyeetyee 3y agoIncredibly fun read!
- rudolfbono 3y ago> managed to sell a firehose of Spoonbill data to two separate firms Curious to know what kinds of companies these were, and more on how that monetisation path came about. I.e. did you realise you could sell the data first, or just heard from these companies out of the blue? I also wonder how privacy played into the equation?
- topaztee 3y agoi fondly looked forward to spoonbills emails.. shame theyre sunsetting. this was a great read.
