This is studying under what conditions sexual assault may seem morally acceptable depending on the 'victim.' To my mind, this is perverse; sexual assault should be morally unacceptable regardless of who (or what) the victim is. The immorality lies not only in the violation of the victim, but also in the lack of control of the immoral impulse in the perpetrator. This study seems to implicitly accept that sexual assault can be more or less moral depending on the circumstances.

- I_Am_Nous 3y agoThis is why I hate utilitarianism. Everything can be boiled down to being "less evil" than something else, at which point it is easier to be "permissible" when liberty isn't license. Like that whole argument made which gave a binary decision of "would you rather be a hog in a confinement crate until you die? Or would you rather live with someone who loves and cares for you and also just so happens to have sex with you occasionally?"
