I don't think anyone mentioned matlab's simulink or it's free clone, scilab xcos, which are more targeted at modeling electronic and mecanical systems, solving differential equations, that sort of thing, I have fond memories of them from my classes, but never got to use them in the workplace then there is also labview, the programs for the equipment were mostly made by former students in that program low-code is old as dirt by now
