- bediger4000 3y ago"A test". If some already very wealthy people didn't smell even more money in AI, LLMs would have been squashed like a bug beneath the heel of DMCA. Copyright law has already been used to suppress lots of useful tech like Napster, and Aereo. That tech didn't appear to have the extractive capabilities of AI, so they were crushed. If there's a "test" of the laws for AI, you know something's going on behind the scenes, because training models on web content is much faster in scale than Napster ever was.
