I wish understanding what the customers actually want (or even better, what they will want) were more valued in the tech world. I have a peculiar knack for it, which has extended from web design to data analysis and even tough medical conversations. One would think it to be something valuable, but instead bosses seem to value a slavish "drive into a brick wall" conformation to their orders over foresight and insight.
