DNS Block: Canal+ Sues Cloudflare, Google and Cisco to Fight Piracy
- Baldbvrhunter 3y agoHow long before they try and block https://root-servers.org/ https://root-servers.org/ or this is illegal: Install dnsmasq if it's not already installed on your system. Edit the dnsmasq configuration file, typically located at /etc/dnsmasq.conf. Specify the root servers. You can find the current list of root servers from resources like the InterNIC website or the root-servers.org website. Add each root server to the configuration file using the server option: server=/root-servers.net/ server=198.41.0.4 # a.root-servers.net server=199.9.14.201 # b.root-servers.net server=192.33.4.12 # c.root-servers.net ... Replace the IP addresses with the actual IP addresses of the root servers. Disable cache and no-resolv. Since you want dnsmasq to only query the root servers, you should disable caching and make sure dnsmasq does not read any other resolv file: no-resolv cache-size=0 Restart dnsmasq to apply the changes: sudo systemctl restart dnsmasq Test the configuration. Use dig or nslookup to test that your DNS queries are being resolved correctly.
