  > The litigation has resulted in more than $50 billion in settlements with drugmakers, distributors and pharmacy chains. All well and good until you realize that ultimately, one way or another, it's consumers who pay this. Unless, responsible individuals start losing their freedoms (e.g., go to jail) these settlements will remain a cost of doing business, a cost that gets passed along to the market (i.e., consumers).
