U.S. Intel officials: Chinese spy balloon used a US internet provider for comms
- hmm37 3y agoExactly who are we supposed to believe? Anonymous intel officials which the ISP denies, or what Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said a few months ago. "Now, seven months later, Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, tells "CBS News Sunday Morning" the balloon wasn't spying. "The intelligence community, their assessment – and it's a high-confidence assessment – [is] that there was no intelligence collection by that balloon," he said." "After the Navy raised the wreckage from the bottom of the Atlantic, technical experts discovered the balloon's sensors had never been activated while over the Continental United States. - 2OEH8eoCRo0 3y ago> “General Li, I want to assure you that the American government is stable and everything is going to be okay,” Milley said, according to Peril. “We are not going to attack or conduct any kinetic operations against you. General Li, you and I have known each other for now five years. If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time. It’s not going to be a surprise … If there was a war or some kind of kinetic action between the United States and China, there’s going to be a buildup, just like there has been always in history.” From the outstanding Atlantic article https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2023/11/general-mark-milley-trump-coup/675375/ https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2023/11/general...

- simonblack 3y agoOf course it did. The balloon was using the '$39 for unlimited data, one-month special' package. The same as all the other Chinese balloons use.
