Only WSLv2 needs (or uses) Hyper-V.
- andix 3y agoBut WSL1 is de-facto dead, although it is still supported.
- ComputerGuru 3y agoIt still makes more sense than v2 for certain patterns.
- OkGoDoIt 3y agoI still use WSL1 daily. It makes a lot more sense than WSL2 for me. If I want a VM of Linux, I’ll run a VM of Linux. The exciting thing about WSL from the beginning was the notion of actually running Linux processes in Windows without a VM.
