It wasn’t all for naught, some hidden pearls came out of the low interest orgy thad made everyone and their dog open a streaming service.
For instance, AMC+‘s „The North Water“ or Starzplay’s (yes, really) „Counterpart“. Any more recommendations?

- akritrime 3y agoDidn't they cancel Counterpart? I watched the first season but never watched the second one when I learnt that it was canceled.
- no_wizard 3y agoYes, which I never understood. A plot with infinite potential (re: seasons) and Starz kills it. They seem to only want to produce the "Power" series with regularity at this point, and really low effort soft core adult TV series
- zelias 3y agoSecond season at least doesn't end on a cliffhanger. They take the time to end the story, especially JK Simmons' arc(s)
- 7thaccount 3y agoI think we only got new Trek due to Paramount trying to sell Paramount Plus. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is terrific and has the spirit of the original series. Star Trek: Lower Decks is also amazing in a very different way. It's like the writers made an adult cartoon show for all the super fans that references every meme, while still being very endearing and true to trek. Star Trek: Picard, is also supposedly really good, but I have only seen one episode so far.
