I hope they do, at least Sam should. You need to know how the models work to understand alot of the business. Why are we spending $x BN on these chips and not those chips. Why are we doing the architecture this way etc. They might not understand every single line of code, or function used, or advanced stuff that gets pulled from latest research. Because to do that he'd have to be a researcher. He needs that information distilled.
