Windows 3.1: Twenty-five years later, it's still a Microsoft milestone (2017)
- simonblack 3y agoMaybe a milestone for Microsoft, but not a milestone in computing. I'd been using a desktop UNIX for several years, and at that time was using Novell's Unixware. I heard so much uproar about this new wonderful desktop that I just had to have a look at it. I was blown away about how crude and absolutely primitive it was. The level of Novell's Unixware that I was using in the early 1990s was not achieved by Microsoft for another 5-6 years or so until Windows 98 was released. By then, I was using Sun's Solaris as my desktop.
