- jauntywundrkind 3y agoFantastically fun view. I'm a tea drinker but loved the dive into this, little subtle differences. A sealing system with built-in inefficiencies and patents to confound competition. A distributer layer copycatting what bigger espresso systems do but for no clear reason patented afresh to confound competition. Nespresso really are some typical game playing shit heeled fucks, using market largess to push around the market without innovating. Hoffman's treatment here is so delicate & informative. Discussion on finer grind size revealed some real advantage. But overall this is such a revelatory deep dive into how pernicious & terrible capitalism is, how it captures & steals what already is & makes it worse, to drive itself in exclusion to general benefit. Way to go Nespresso, you vicious evil son of a shit villains, you have successfully thieved good from the world.
