Scorched Earth was a nice upgrade from GORILLA.BAS :)

The best part of GORILLAS.BAS was how easy it was to explore, and crucially, mod. Some of my first programming experiences were tweaking it to change how the throws work, damage, etc. Super basic stuff but a wonderful gateway into the world of development. It’s a shame there’s nothing as dead simple as that these days. Minecraft I guess is closest? But imo not comparable due to the closed nature and complexity.
