Ask HN: Biggest Story of the Year?
As the year comes to a close, let's revisit some of the stories that crossed the HN front page. What do you think was the biggest story we saw?
- wilted-iris 3y agoReddit made some major missteps and Twitter/X started to crumble. I think we'll look back and point at this year as the beginning of the end for the current social media platforms.
- r721 3y agoSome people are flagging negative Twitter stories for various reasons, so they didn't stick on front page for a long time, even if some other people consider them important (significant amount of flags affects ranking before story becomes [flagged]).

- wilted-iris 3y agoThe pair of OpenAI stories here is fascinating. Are folks bullish on OpenAI after everything that happened?
- r721 3y agoIt's hard to say - depends on what will Sutskever do, probably? (see https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=38579227 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=38579227)
