What's the future of 3D content creation in a no code era?
Hi HN community!
As we dive deeper into the no-code/low-code revolution, I'd love to open a discussion on its impact on 3D content creation.
Traditionally, a high level of technical skill and understanding of complex software was necessary to make 3D assets and showcase them in a virtual, metaverse-like world.
If immersive, participatory 3D experiences became accessible through a no-code tool, what does the future hold for professionals and enthusiasts in different fields (design, entertainment, gaming, etc.)?
A few questions I'm curious to start the discussion around:
1. How do you see the evolution of easy 3D content creation impacting industries such as gaming, education, virtual events, and more?
2. What are the potential challenges and opportunities that these tools would need to solve for people interested in virtual spaces (3D artists, marketers, designers, etc.)?
3. Can no code tools match the complexity and quality of professional coded solutions, or will they serve different market segments?
I'm particularly interested as I'm currently working with a team on developing a tool aimed at democratizing virtual experience (like shopping and gaming) creation and would love to hear insights, predictions, and stories!

- billconan 3y agois 3ds max a no-code 3d creation tool? I think the future for 3d creation will be generative ai and 3d scanning/gaussian splatting
- hmarzouq 3y agoI wouldn't necessarily classify 3ds max not typically classified as 'no-code.' It's more oriented towards professionals with skills in graphic design, animation, and modeling, so there would be a significant learning curve for anyone without these skills. Hadn't heard of gaussian splatting before your comment btw! Reading a bit more about it now, what would you say it'll be used most for?
