It's clear from this (and other recent stories on HN) that the people running scientology are downright evil. In the biography of Jack Parsons (JPL founder) a young L. Ron Hubbard shows up and with a combination of Thelema and sex-magic gains his trust, screws him over, takes his money and his wife. Scientology was founded by a conman and sociopath, it's no wonder their history is so messed up. I don't understand how this "church" continues to operate with any legitimacy or influence and almost no accountability. Are they that well connected? Is the world truly that corrupt?
