West Antarctic Ice Sheet (WAIS) might be close to collapse
- ggm 3y agoThis is a basis of argument from genetics back ported to climate science but I feel misses the bridge of causative linkage. Since we know two things are broadly contemporary it's a strong case but it's got heaps of unknown unknowns around it. Which is a long winded way of saying "might" does a lot of heavy lifting. Obviously terrible if correct. Highly harmful to species at large as well as society, we cling to coastlines as much as other species do.
