- theamk 3y agoIt's a pity the digital car tools are so bad.. I blame manufacturers. In one of my previous workplaces, I've worked on startup that was modifying the industrial equipment, and we had everything on CAN bus, with some in-house development tools. The experience was great: wiring is trivial (those 4-pins Deutsch connectors everywhere), and the debug-ability is much better. Connect a laptop and you can record the traffic and trivially observe the wire connection which gets loose only after machine has been running for a while. Try that with analog parts! So don't knock the new digital way.. it is only bad if someone else designed it for you and you don't have access to all the details.
